It is through the ritual of cooking & eating that I have always connected and shared my love with other people, myself and nature.
We live in a world where we are experiencing a continual increase in health related issues that doctors are unable to cure or explain. There are many people who are unhappy with themselves, their lives and not at peace. Many are also spiritually disconnected from themselves. I was one of these people and I struggled for many years with ill health, unhappiness and an unhealthy relationship with my food.
I healed myself by adopting my ancestors ancient Greek wisdoms and philosophies. By adopting their wisdoms and philosophies when I cooked, ate and the way I lived my life I found an inner connection to myself and the universe. I healed and found inner peace and along the way my life’s purpose; to help connect people to themselves and back to Earth by the adoption of forgotten ancient wisdoms and philosophies.
I was therefore inspired to write my book “Cooking & Eating Wisdom for Better Health” and to resurrect and share with the world the Ancient Greek philosophies and wisdoms on life, cooking and eating. The philosophies that helped me heal from all my illnesses, find happiness and peace with myself and to reconnect to myself, others and God. I wanted to provide people with all the tools and know-how using my passion for cooking and food; the tools and know-how needed to cook joyfully, with agapi (Greek word for unconditional love) and eat for longevity.
By cooking intuitively and using ingredients that harmonize your body and mind cooking and eating will become a time to celebrate, a joyful experience, a time to connect with yourself, a time to awaken to new experiences and to heal. You can begin to explore and rediscover the farmacy of nature for personal healing instead of the pharmacy.
The ancient Greeks had an emphasis on cooking spiritually rather than stressfully. Positive affirmations are also included. Affirmations were used by the ancient Greeks to look at the world and life from a positive frame of mind and to promote healing within. I wanted to also explore in the book some of the key ingredients and their healing benefits noted by Hippocrates and other ancients that were used by them in their cooking and in potions to heal health conditions.
Healthy eating and a healthy mind were the two key components practiced by the ancient Greeks to ensure healthy living and longevity – “Let medicine be thy food and food thy medicine”. “The natural force within each of us is the greatest healer of disease” Hippocrates. Many people during these times lived up to the age of 200 years old a rare occurrence now days. We all have the potential to live long and healthy lives and this book will provide you with the know-how.
